Things look different around here

Welcome back.

As you can see, things have changed around here. As things do.

And here’s what I’ve learned about myself: I’m not good at adapting. Not in the moment. In the middle of a change I’m stressed, I’m holding on to how it was, I’m convinced I’m doing it wrong.

But in hindsight? I’m pretty great at it. Every single time, I figured it out. I just never gave myself credit until it was over.

So this time I’m trying to catch it while it’s happening.

My last post was almost two years ago. Life got loud and this place got quiet. I’ve said “I’m back” here before, so I’m not going to make you a big promise. I’ll just tell you what’s different.

I’m following through on what I start.

If you’ve read me before, you know I have a million interests. I’d start something, get obsessed, drift to the next thing. I wrote about that here years ago and it’s still part of me. But lately the gap between having an idea and actually doing it keeps getting smaller.

Proof: I created and posted content on my social media for 30 days straight. Thirty. Not “most days.” Every day. And now I’m here, writing this at midnight on a Wednesday instead of “getting to it this weekend.”

Some of that started when I came across Jim Rohn. One line of his stuck with me: “The major key to your better future is you.” Simple. Annoyingly simple. It’s hard to keep waiting for the right moment after hearing that.

Then I ended up in a room full of entrepreneurs and something lit up in me. I want to be great at the things I do. Not perfect, I’m nowhere near perfect. Great, and learning as I go.

One thing I know I need to work on is asking more questions. Consider this me practicing out loud.

Things are looking different for me in a good way. I’m going to keep that part close for now. I don’t want to hand it to anybody’s opinions before it’s strong enough to stand on its own. But I wanted you to know it’s happening.

I don’t know exactly what this place is turning into. I just know I want it to grow into more, the same way I’m trying to.

Thanks for being here. Let’s see what happens.
